Connecticut receives:
C Miguel Vargas (18, A) - minor league contract
2B Reynaldo Díaz (20, A) - minor league contract
Since Then:
Vargas has spent '08 and '09 with Connecticut's Class-A affiliate team. He has shown mediocre skills thus far.
Díaz was released by Connecticut midway through the '08 season (6/23/08). As of the '09 season, he has moved on to play for the Hermosillo Sols of the Alianza Béisbol Al Sur de la Frontera League.
Smith went 7-10 with a 4.76 ERA in 32 games with Canton in '08. He was traded to Manchester midway through the '09 season (6/14/09).
