Connecticut Nutmeggers and Gloucester Fishermen

Connecticut receives:
RF Ken Brooks (28, AAA) - minor league contract
SP John Bell (23, AA) - minor league contract
Gloucester's 7th round 2008 draft pick (SP Leonard Martin - 9th pick)

Since Then:
Brooks struggled with a .226 batting average in 139 games with Connecticut in '08. He has continued to struggled as a bench player in '09.
Bell appears destined to be a minor league pitcher for Connecticut.
Martin has pitched well for Connecticut's SS-A affiliate but appears to be a career minor leaguer.

Howell went 13-3 with 5 saves and a 3.59 ERA in 70 games with Gloucester in the '08 season. He has been a solid 5th starter for Gloucester in '09.
White pitched well for Gloucester's AAA affiliate in '08 and has since been promoted to the bullpen in the '09 season where he has performed decently.

West Virginia Coal Sox and Gloucester Fishermen

West Virginia receives:
CL Travis Reynolds (33, ML) -$0.75

Since then:
Reynolds never played for West Virginia as he was traded to Canton 2 months later (12/01/07). The package deal with Canton landed Mr. George Riley to West Virginia. Reynolds is out of baseball after stints with Canton, San Antonio, and Ciudad Acuña Mariachis of the Alianza Béisbol Al Sur de la Frontera League.

Parker batted .254 with 10 homers, 50 RBIs, and 68 runs scored in 112 games with Gloucester in the '08 season. In the '08 offseason, he became a free agent and signed a 5-year deal with New Jersey worth $23,375,000.

Since Then:
Thomas was traded to Crystal Lake two months later (12/11/07). As of '09, he remains a productive and consistent .300 hitter.
Martínez struggled 56 games with San Antonio hitting only .218. He was traded back to Tempe mid-season (6/28/08). As of '09, he has since been traded to Charleston (5/24/09). He is developing into respectable bench player.

Taylor went 5-11 with a 4.60 ERA in 28 games started for Tempe in '08. He was traded back to San Antonio in the offseason (12/18/08).
Kichida batted .266 with 42 RBIs in 100 games with Tempe. He was traded at the trading deadline to Crystal Lake (7/31/08). A decent player, he has struggled to earn his keep in the big leagues.
Lara played 65 games for Tempe in the '08 season hitting .250 with 34 RBIs. He was traded back to San Antonio mid-season (6/28/08) where he was traded to Manchester weeks later (7/14/08). In his career, he has been inconsistent with his bat but provides good defense at all 3 outfield positions.
Pérez was traded back to San Antonio (6/01/08). A year later San Antonio traded him back to Tempe (7/05/09). A little inconsistent with his pitching, Pérez has grown into a solid contributor in the bullpen.
García spent most of the '08 season in Tempe's farm system. As of '09, he remains with Tempe where he is developing into medicore pitcher.
Carney batted .238 with 35 RBIs with Tempe in the '08 season. As of '09, he remains with Tempe and is widely regarded as one the league's best defensive catchers in the game.

Since Then:
Semblano went 12-7 with a 3.74 ERA in 32 games with San Antonio in the '08 season. He was traded to New Orleans in the '08 offseason (11/10/08)

Hernández has played well at West Virginia's Class-A affiliate. As of '09, he was named the #47 prospect according to Baseball America.

Kentucky receives:
2B Manny Sánchez (30, ML) - $2.3/$2.3

Since Then:
Sánchez has played poorly for Kentucky while serving as a utility backup infielder.

Trujillo became a free agent in the '07 offseason and thus never played for Canton. Since then he has played in the Alianza Béisbol Al Sur de la Frontera League.
Patrick remains in Canton's AAA affiliate as of the '09 season. He has struggled and appears destined to be a career minor leaguer.

Kentucky receives:
RF Fernando Garza (28, AAA) - minor league contract

Since Then:
Garza was traded to Arlington 2 months later (12/12/07). After a stint in Tempe, Garza was traded by Tempe back to San Antonio (5/24/09). He has played well in a limited bench role with San Antonio.

Lara was released by San Antonio (5/24/09). As of the '09 season, he is out of baseball despite playingexceptionally well in the minors without given a real opportunity in the big leagues.

RF Antonio Alfaro (31, ML) - $2.2/$2.9/$2.6/$2.3

Arlington receives:
MR Jimmy Allen (20, AAA) - minor league contract
3B Jose Herrera (19, AA) - minor league contract

Since Then:
Allen made Arlington's big ball club during the '09 season as a converted Starter and has pitched decently thus far in his young career.
Herrera has been promoted to Arlington's AAA affiliate as of the '09 season. He appears to be a servicable 3B in the big leagues soon.

Alfaro batted .295 and 5 RBIs in 14 games with Crystal Lake in September '08. Coming into the '09 season, he has flourished in a platoon role versus righties with Crystal Lake.
